Description
Portraying Identity Through Art is a source book developed by real classroom teachers featuring case studies from their experience, accompanied by practical, proven strategies for middle-grade visual arts instruction. This book offers a collection of case studies and pearls of wisdom from five middle school visual arts teachers from Boston area public schools who participated in PSI's Support Network for Innovative Classrooms during 2005-2006. These teachers met monthly to collaboratively review, research, and apply new methods of teaching students to express their identity through art. This book documents lessons that came out of those discussions. More...
